Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised within a multiethnic household. Jacqueline's father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim, a Malaysian. She has two younger brothers as well as an older sister. In the wake of turmoil in Lanka, her parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. Her schooling was completed in Bahrain and she won an Scholarship to attend at the University of Sydney. There she graduated with the Media and Communications degree. To enhance her interest in cultures, languages and other languages she enrolled in the Berlitz school of languages, in order to master Spanish and also improve her French and Arabic. In 2006, she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006, and was also a contestant for Miss Universe 2006. In 2006, she took home she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting the show about Sri Lankan companies called Lanka Business Report. Padukone was the daughter of badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore, but she was born in Copenhagen. In her teens she competed in badminton championships at national level. But, she resigned from the game to become a fashion designer. Padukone is from Mangalorean background and her native language is Konkani. Padukone is a village located in the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player, while her mother is also a travel consultant.
